CF & On Board = New Friendship

by C:F Team on 31st August, 2015 at 4:54 PM CEST

On Board is a learning experience in which traveling is the main motor to learn. This September, the On Board crew is taking a tour around Slovenia and for their program here they offer collaborative experiences with local people, organizations and companies from Slovenia, among which Jose Antonio Morales and Matej Golob, OnBoard mentors and experts, and also friends and collaborators of CF.

On their stop to Bled, we already met with On Board crew at the IEDC - Bled School of Management. We already made friends, so here is featured interview with Marcela Fernández, On Board founder.

CF Team: For the curious CF minds outthere, can you introduce who is Marcela Fernández?

Marcela: I am a life-long education-hacking journeyer who simply enjoys meeting people and new cultures. By my 24 I had visited 45 countries, lived in 7 of them, and learned 6 languages. I would say, I am on a journey to live out and prove that non-traditional educational paths can be viable options for young people. This is what I do as a Flow Consultant, and also as a founder and co-creator of On Board - a mobile outdoor classroom where mindful, continously moving students are able to learn, travel and make impact in the local communities they visit.

CF: In September 2015, you are bringing OnBoard to Slovenia? What are your expectations and why you have chosen Slovenia?

Marcela: We have chosen Slovenia because it is a very exciting country to visit that can surprise you in every corner. It is a jewel, its landscapes are mind blowing and there is so much more diversity. It is well protected and it is not a tourist trap destination. We connected deeply with is culture through a great network of mentors and we admire what they do, and would like to promote it and show it to the world. Also being such a young country, coming from a Communist reality, it is impressive that entrepreneurship, start ups and tech are all so relevant and common in its society and new generation, and we certainly want to learn from it.

It is a country where everything is close and it is relatively easy to travel around. Mostly it is perfect for people seeking for something new.

CF Team: You are also an author of one of our Growr TIPS and you advised the global youth that "traveling is one of the most authentic ways of learning". How did you 'fall in love' with traveling?

Marcela: I felt in love with traveling when I started to travel to learn languages. The fact that I could communicate with people and through words to understand their way of living was fascinating.

Then, I started really learning from everything: history, art, gastronomy... and I couldn't stop, I wanted to learn more and more, and understand the reality in which we live. I wanted the world to be my classroom.

So, I lived 6 months in France to learn French; one year in Italy as a volunteer; I lived in Spain for more than a year; lived  San Francisco for three months; travelled around South East Asia for three months; lived in Boulder, Colorado for four months, so basically I could be called a Nomad - with a home everywhere I go. Of course, I also love my country, Colombia, and I go back at least two times a year for a longer period of time.

For the past two year I have been traveling with my partner which is also the co-Creator of ON BOARD - without him it wouldn't exist.

CF team: Given the opportunity, what else would you like to address the global youth of Challenge:Future and Growr?

Marcela: I would really encourage the community to travel more, to join us in our programs with ON BOARD and use our experiences also as a platform for personal and professional growth and also as a way to share with other people from around the world what you are doing.

If you have friends that you think should know about ON BOARD feel free to invite them, and let them know about this incredible opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and discover a new country through the eyes of the local people and cast network of mentors.

CF Team: Thank you so much Marcela! We wish you the best possible journey throughout Slovenia in the forthcoming month!

I think it is conceivable to appreciate scholarly composition assignments particularly on the off chance that you take responsibility for work. I take a gander at any scholastic composition task as a test to exhibit what I think about the subject. https://www.assignmentdone.co. uk
