Creating Opportunities for Indian Youth

by Damla Aktan on 12th February, 2013 at 3:14 PM CEST

As part of the Youth in Action Project 'Create Future with Creating Jobs', challenge:future, together with CEEMAN, Sardar Patel Education Trust India and InSight HR & Training Consulting organized and hosted 3 separate events for empowering Indian youth in Rajkot and Ahmedabad. A team of three young C:F speakers (Damla, Dan and Neslihan) traveled to India and supported the whole event. C:F chapter India, led by the exquisite management skills of Jatin and Dharmesh organized three events worth remembering. This is the short story of creating opportunities in India for almost 1000 Indian students! See how everything happened through Damla’s eyes!

If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India.
 Romain Rolland, French scholar

As I expressed during most of our C:F Chapters Network presentations in India, I quite dream a lot, day after day, night after night, and while thinking about how to start my presentation, I found out in India that most of my dreams are realized at the end. But our trip to India, the people we met there, the meaningful conversations we had, the chance to see how we can affect their lives even in a small way, is something MUCH BIGGER THAN I could ever DREAM!

Even after 4 different flights to final destination, long waits in the airports and despite the fact how much we were tired, the very first welcome of Kataria family refreshed us at the very first moment we landed! Throughout the whole events, we kept saying that C:F is a life changing event..Let’s me show you how: Dan was awesome in presenting the whole C:F story and competitions, including the lovely warming up games. Explaining his own story and many ways how students can attach to the organization, he attracted a lot attention! When we took the lead with Neslihan, I started by asking them what are their dreams and we requested at least 5 person to answer. You can not imagine how enthusiastic they were to share their dreams. Those who shared their dreams with us won one C:F t-shirt or C:F time magazine in exchange!

Neslihan explained how she came up with Challenge:Future while she was just google-ing for the word “challenge” on the web as she was facing problem with learning its meaning! And Neslihan started realizing her dream throughout C:F as she first went to Slovenia and now to India.

And here is how I wrapped up: “I was having a very hard time during my life…My dream was making my PhD, ok that might be a small and ordinary dream, but there were many challenges in front of me…This is when I came up with the C:F Competition announcement for the first time on web thanks to one of my friend staying with us. I applied, I could not make it to finals, but I was still invited to C:F Summit…and then miracles started…one year later I found myself as the Vice President of Chapters Network, one year later as the President, and now I found myself in India, the country in the other corner of the world presenting C:F Chapters. So, yes this was life changing for me, and I am eagerly waiting to see what waits next for me! So those who shared their dreams with us in the beginning, just jump in, and FIND A WAY TO REALIZE YOURS!”

Mark Twain, American author: "India is, the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only."

Yes it was with all the culture mix, food, air, roads, people and the city itself it was more than a cradle of human race. Guys, find a way to go and feel the spirit of that culture; and do this with C:F! And never stop dreaming, they are the gates to your realities!

Its all about dreaming big :)

Everyone knows Jatin , my baby bro , so no introduction required :) He was having a dream that i want to do something big at Rajkot but no one was helping him or encouraging him but he didnt loose hope n kept doing work

Finally with the C:F his dream was completed n that also with huge success :) i just love my bro for believing in himself n i love C:F people who came as a big help n reliable source :)

people say that we indians are great host but i would say with sweet guests only one can be good host n I must tell you these three amazing people Damla , Dan n Neshlihan were so loving n caring n down to earth that we were feeling like meeting family only :)

where you have such amazing inspiring people to capture the crowd's attention the event must go fab ...it was huge success n we were in news everywhere :)

as Dan always says attitude matters ....weather its towards yourself , relations , thinking , with surroundings , with people below n above u ... in short in anything n everything

n India professional chapter's motto is that attitude comes with "sharing n caring " so we all were happy n honored to be part of this team :)

I did not know details about this event but after reading this article I got to know what was it all about. Despite of all the craziness and traffic India showcase huge potential to change future. A country made of people where people just don't preach but they live.

And of course, there can't be any complains about welcome you get from an Indian family.

Jatin congratulations to you and the C:F team.

Dear Andreja and all,

I am sorry for replying a bit late, and thank you all for the nice words and comments. I am very very happy that I could have the chance to be present at India, and felt all this synergy and life-changing events in person. It is perhaps the best thing in life to be able to feel what you can do for other people and -as one very special person once told me- that it is not that much hard to make the world a better place as some people think. Perhaps the best feeling was also seeing there are many people out there who have hopes, dreams and excitement in their hearts which will lead them to change something for themselves and in return to society. Thank you all!
