Using your passion to create

by Jude Christoper Roxas on 17th February, 2011 at 10:50 PM CEST

Hi everyone! How are you? I bet you love the new website which was obviously the product of the great minds in the C:F office working together with passion, giving us another masterpiece that will inspire and help each other in shaping our future.

Speaking about passion, let me share with you about my passions first. As a person, I am considered a very silent individual who thinks too much when I have the time to do so. I love to think deep, read books and use my imagination. In short, my passions include books, imagination, arts, support, causes and making people happy. These are just few of the things that fuel up my life to continue making the things that I want in life to happen. But mind you, with all these stuff, I can already make a difference. Why? Because I’m using my passions to create.

Challenge Future is a place of diverse people from different races and cultures. We are all from the different walks of life but I don’t consider ourselves as strangers, because I know for a fact that we are bound by a purpose which is to use our skills, minds and hearts to shape the future. Today I would like to give you few steps on how to be an effective and creative player for this year’s competition as part of this special Weekly Hot Topic:

1.Know Yourself and your Team

You have to know yourself first before acting as our very own selves will tell us about our limits and the things that we can do. After that, choose and know your teammates too! Make sure that you go along well together because you will be working with them. Know their strengths and weaknesses and try to help each other in every possible way.

2.Plan Ahead

We all know that the competition requires us to gather information and show it visually through presentations and videos. So I suggest that you plan ahead and prepare for this year’s history in the making. Visualize the things that you want to do. A notebook and some pieces of paper will actually help you. List down the things that you need. Even if you are not an animator, writing a script and making a storyboard will actually help you in the process. And most importantly, make a schedule and be sure to make everything on time!.

3.Know the Rules

To be able to produce an effective creation out of passion, we really need to know the rules. What fonts to be used, what colors, the layout, the timing, the effects, and copyright issues are just some of the rules that we need to consider. Know it so that, there will be no issues at the end.

4.Make it happen

You’re all set! Now all you need to do is to make it happen. You have to know what programs you are going to use for the production. There are lots of programs that we have here. If you want to go with a simple slideshow, you can use Windows Movie Maker. If you want to add more effects to your videos, you can use Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere. If you want to present some photos in your presentation, a good tweak and edit in Adobe Photoshop will be really a great thing. There are also some free stuffs over the internet where you can edit photos. Picasa and Piknik are some of the useful web based applications that I used before.

5.Prepare for Changes

As a team, you are supposed to be open for any changes that may occur during your production. Be open and try to maintain the drive to make this happen.

6.Re-check

When you’re done with everything, don’t forget to trace back from the start and try to see if everything was doen correctly.

7.SHARE

The last but not the least step, SHARE the creation and be proud of it!

So, I hope that you will find this article useful and let this fall as a reminder for all of you because I’m sure that you already knew these things.

But the article is not yet done without any questions that I would like to ask to you:

What are your passions and how do you use them to continue creating for the benefit of the world?

Cheers and let’s have some chitty chats here and let’s talk about our passions in life.
