Tip of the Week #12: Time for Sharing and Daring

by Nadya Zhexembayeva on 21st December, 2010 at 7:06 PM CEST

It is particularly beautiful here today, in Bled. The sun is descending fast and the evening fog is walking down from the slopes of the mountains to the fingertips of the lake. I am sitting in my office in a near dark, desk lamp pouring coziness into the room, smiling. We have announced the start of 2011 Competition yesterday, and your comments are filled with life. Yes, it’s evolution, baby, and the new year will bring new gifts.

Dan, our loyal C:F fan, is waiting for this TOW text draft so that he can add to it and post it as soon as possible. But somehow, I am not in a rush: I want to take the time to feel the significance of this moment. The moment of a new beginning. An invitation to be daring.

So, my tip for this week is simple: dare. Dare to take part in the next year competition, dare to shape the future, dare to want more, dare to have faith, dare to imagine, dare to do.

But daring alone is not enough. This week, the very first Challenge:Future Action Team - the team of writers - have put together another valuable tip. To dare - to have courage to do something deeply meaningful - we also need to share. So, here comes the insights from Shweta and the rest of the Writers Action Team:

“Here is the very first TOW from the Action Team# 1, having the opportunity to share this responsibility with Nadya and Dan. This is the 12th TOW and the number 12 enables a sense of calm to prevail in even the most turbulent of situations and hence we believe that this week’s TOW will be really helpful to face any chaotic circumstances in life.

So, guys, in light of this symbolic meaning of our very first TOW, are we ready to take on the challenges of future?

To take on the challenges, we must build on each other - and here is where DARING and SHARING become essential. Sharing knowledge is one of the best tools to keep progressing TOGETHER, no matter, how old or young, or how powerful person you are in your life. If you share yourself in terms of knowledge, information, even your stuff that you have (as mentioned beautifully in Nadya & Dan’s: Tip of the Week #8: Ready to trash your party?), then definitely, we all can progress together gradually, but surely. If you are alone at the top, it cannot be called progress. It is as limited as running in a race in which you are the only athlete. Take others with you on the journey of growth.

So, friends, who are reading this article out there, just come out and start expressing yourself and your knowledge via this exciting platform called Challenge Future. But don’t limit yourself here because we have a larger place out there called “Life and World”. Explore and let others know about why you are here. Share what you have, your ideas, your skills, your passion, or anything because that will surely add a spark to the colors of our lives. And take a look at how others did it with sharing for sustainability of environment, sharing the job, sharing intellectual property or sharing green innovation.

Thanks to C:F for giving us the opportunity to express ourselves, our views. Now let's play a sharing game: I am asking 1 question, whoever comments first will answer my question -- “what would you like to share with C:F?” -- then he/she needs to ask a question for another succeeding person.

Keep Sharing ‘n’ Daring!"

i actually like the idea of combining DARE and SHARING in this topic :)

usually when we dare, sometimes, there will be a possibility that we will be shocked with the initial results (it usually happens to me that's why i can say this :P)

but then, whenever i dare and when i think that i cant do 'the thing', here comes my friends and loved ones who will always share something- trust, confidence, everything- and the things that will surely help me with my endeavor.

so i am very much happy that you reminded me of this one. it's great to actually see their efforts in building up my very own self!

congrats to Shweta for the kick-off of the action team. this is really awesome! and to Nadya and Dan, thank you <3

My plan for 31st evening is to take a flashback of the events that took place in my life for the year that is ending and to delete the negative energy that it had left. And welcome the new year with full joy, excitement, happiness and make new aims, goals even higher than last year.

My question for next member...
What is your new year resolution?

Kayode Nubi

My new year resolution is not to have "new year resolution" but rather imagine my vision, break them into frames or timelines, set goals on each frame and make plans to achieve them.

My Question for the next person is: "Do you think the negatives of Facebook-ing outweigh the positives?"

The biggest mistake of 2010....

I gained weight just because i was not regular with my exercise for 2 months

The lessons learnt...
1. Its easy to gain weight but difficult to loose
2. Its never too late to start

My question:-
What do you think who is more important...your friends or your family in your life....Can you imagine a life without either of the two?

Which thing or action works as a stress buster for you?

Well, hello to everybody!! Here it is a rainy Turkish day, but I hope somewhere on earth it is already sunny today :) Well, my answer is, the biggest stress buster for me is to be understood wrong by others around me just because of the wordless ,invisible emotions that is all shared by human beings. I feel myself stressed when people think and act only in accordance with their inside thoughts without caring about each other and even the world.

Here is my question: Which phase do you think is the luckiest period for us, the human beings, to feel happy, innocent and still have enough courage to create a small change in the world??? :)

Hello everyone :)
I guess childhood is the luckiest period to feel happy, innocent and still have enough courage to create a small change in the world . Actually i don't remember mine, not at all ,but when i see the children i can say this easily. They have great, crazy ideas to change something. They don't need fascinating ,important, expensive things to happy. Moreover they have no idea about money, and it's a biggest evidence their innocence :))

Now my question :What's your favorite quote ?

Wow! Here is one of my chapter member in Turkey, İzmir University of Economics :) Hey Ayşegül, I am honoured to have the chance to present you here to all our friends all around the world. Well, I will not take the turn of others but just want to mention my favorite quote :"Sometimes what people name as coincidence is what God does" Actually I have read this in a Turkish book, but currently do not remember the name of the writer, but I absolutely loved it! Just wanted to thank to my chapter member here, and I would really love to hear other quotes!! so the same question as Ayşegül asked :

What's your favorite quote ?

6th January, 2011 @ 8:45 AM CEST

"The task of philosophy is not simply to interpret but to change the world."
A very popular quote from Karl Marx. This quote is one of my reasons to deal with both philosophy and politics. We should work for change!

Would you agree if I said, "Fighting for peace is implausible"?

hello everyone:)
We have got a nice story about sharing read it!:)
" A farmer was chosen to be the grower of the best quality wheat crops for three consecutive years .
Curious journalists asked him about his success , and he responded:'The secret of my success is i am a sharing person,i sow high quality seeds in my field and share those seeds with surrounding field owners. Because i want their wheat to be high-quality as mine . If i don't share my seeds with them and they use worse-quality ones even my crops, will get worse in the time of pollination..Sharing my seeds with others and helping them sowing those seeds is the only way to obtain highest-quality seeds."
Me and my teammate Veyis Akın are eager to read more from you:)

Hey :)) I saw your comments while writing an article about my childhood for the blog. :) Here, some of my ideas:

'Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them.' That was just a quotation from The Little Prince which has been my source of inspiration since my childhood and I think that it's literally true because there is no war in the world of children, because they don't kill each other... So I think that not forgetting that you were children too whether you remember or not, not forgetting your childhood dreams, your small happinesses can help us to make the world a better place. Innocence always works, as the things get more complex, they will never be able to solved, if we live our lives as simple as the children do, sharing with each other, having full of joy, I belive that the things are going to change. And I really could see all these things in the eyes of the children I worked with during an environment project. They don't want to cut trees, start fire and built houses, they just want to get lost in the forest...:)
...just remember those days, it will work :))
