Hey guys,
This is a small experiment I want to try with you guys, suppose I throw a technology at you...tell you what it does fundamentally. I want to see if as a community we can find different uses for it...Find different businesses that would need such a technology to make their processes faster or more economical or situations where this technology becomes critical.
So there is this idea I have been developing as a pet project.

It is a cross-platform mobile application that allows data to be securely exchanged between ANY phone and servers/databases using either encrypted SMSs(developing countries) or GPRS (developed countries)

Now things to remember : cross-platform application, means it is an application that runs on any phone. ANY.. iPhone, Android, Java, Symbian, Bada even feature phones (i.e. the phones before smart phones)..

My first plan was to make it a tool for micro-credit in developing countries... but I know there are more uses... so I want to use the collaborative power of C:F for inspiration.

This is also in my mind the first step towards building an active community... community projects and tasks!!
Regards,
Shiv

Hey dude,
Great initiative. Have in mind of doing something similar with you guys, our super innovative community ;) Firstly, I think your idea has all the potential to be implemented. And as you have all the technical knowledge I think you can start with prototyping and scenario building to see what you need, for whom etc. I would be more than happy to help you out (my fields are UX, IxD, design, user research...) - sounds like a very interesting and applicable project.

Am also interested what others have to say.
